redirect serial port data - com port redirector

Allows to redirect serial port data

Advanced COM Port Redirector is an advanced utility that creates a virtual serial port to which it can redirect all data sent from a serial port (real or virtual), by duplicating the port.

Creating redirection ports is useful for capturing all data streams between applications and serial port devices.

Using Advanced COM Port Redirector, you can:

Use hardware- or software-based serial ports without modifying their settings

Sometimes, when your application needs to use a serial port, those physically available in your system are already occupied. Many devices and software applications have predefined settings that cannot be easily modified. Advanced COM Port Redirector solves both of these problems by creating virtual serial ports, which can be used just like real ones. All data sent to the redirected COM port is duplicated to the redirection port, and vice versa.

Monitor all serial port activity

While Serial Port Monitor (another application developed by our company) enables easy monitoring of data streams going through any serial COM port, some of them may go under the monitor, thus escaping interception. Here comes Advanced COM Port Redirector, which allows you to create a redirection port all data streams are redirected to. Monitoring of the redirection port means that all pieces of data are duly captured.

Duplicate all signal lines

Virtual serial ports created by Advanced COM Port Redirector can emulate any conventional hardware signal lines (DTR/DSR, RTS/CTS, RING, ERROR, DCD, etc.). As in real null modem connection, DTR of the local port is connected to DSR and DCD of the remote port; and RTS of the local port, to CTS of the remote port.
