Freeware RS232 Port Logger
RS232 Data Logger can redirect data streams from any (real or virtual) serial ports, allowing you to gather data from multiple serial ports simultaneously. If necessary, RS232 Data Logger can run under a Virtual Machine (e.g., VMware or Virtual PC).
All data is recorded to a text file and can be analyzed later. For instance, you may want to parse global positioning data from the GPS device connected to your notebook via serial port, in order to track your movements (or simply to learn how serial ports work).
With RS232 Data Logger, you can:
Log all serial port communication
RS232 Data Logger lets you easily connect to any (real or virtual) serial port and start logging transmitted data. All data going through the serial port will be redirected to the .txt file defined by you.
Test serial port communication between devices and applications
RS232 Data Logger is a handy tool for testing serial port communication. As all data is saved into the log file, it can be analyzed later. RS232 Data Logger can capture data streams of up to 256 COM ports.
View captured data in real time
Once you have selected the serial port, specified its parameters and defined the log file, you can start logging data. RS232 Data Logger displays in real time the total amount of bytes stored in the log file and comprehensive data received from the selected serial port.
