Shared Serial Ports allows to share one COM port between several applications
If you ever need to share a real COM port between several applications so that all of them will receive data from the real port simultaneously, you should try Shared Serial Ports. This advanced utility shares real COM port and lets each application use its own virtual serial port in exclusive mode. Any virtual port may send data to the real serial port, while you can set separate permissions for each application to read/write or change state of control lines.
With Shared Serial Ports you can
Make several applications access one serial port simultaneously
By employing virtual serial port technology, Shared Serial Ports allows multiple applications to use one serial COM port. For that purpose, virtual copies of the real port are created and given the same name.
Control signal lines of serial ports
Shared Serial Ports can fully emulate all conventional signal lines. As in real null modem connection, DTR of the local port is connected to DSR and DCD of the remote port; and RTS of the local port, to CTS of the remote port.
Set specific access rights for each application
By default, all applications have the same access rights for their virtual serial ports: read and write, meaning that they are allowed to read from and write to the real serial port, but not to change its control lines' state. However, you can use CONTROL rights to define the main applications, which are allowed to change the control lines' state.
