Create virtual modems and map
them to virtual serial ports
Virtual modems created by Virtual Modem PRO emulate standard hardware modems. While conventional modems communicate over telephone lines, virtual modems are handy for transporting data via Ethernet, Internet, VLAN, VPN, etc.
Virtual Modem PRO uses virtual serial ports technology which fully emulates real serial ports and duplicates all their functionality. A virtual modem attached to a virtual serial port works like a real one (including full support of Hayes AT commands) while using the TCP/IP protocol to establish connection to remote host.
Using Serial Splitter you can:
Create up to 255 virtual modems
You don't have to use outdated hardware modems anymore. For all practical purposes, virtual modems act just like real ones.
Make use of higher speed of connection
Connections established between virtual modems are much faster than those between hardware modems. Transmission speeds can reach 35 - 40 Kbytes/s on average and are limited mostly by the CPUs' processing power.
Benefit from better security
When you transmit sensitive information to someone over a conventional phone line, a hacker toting a remote phone line scanner doesn't even need to have physical access to your line in order to intercept your data. But with Virtual Modem Pro deployed on both communicating computers, you are free to select more secure routes for sending confidential information.
