Unlike Virtual Serial Port Driver, Lite version doesn't allow managing signal lines such as DTR/DSR/RTS/CTS, doesn't setting custom connection wiring, doesn't allow to use different driver and doesn't provide PnP support, doesn't allow Virtual Serial Port overlapping. You will be restricted in number of Virtual Serial Ports and you won't be able to receive advanced Virtual Serial Port information using configuration utility.
- Create virtual ports that are same copies of real ones. Virtual Serial Port Driver XP Lite is the analogue version of Virtual Serial Port Driver, however with truncated functions. However, it still gives you the ability to create virtual ports and look and behave exactly like real ones. The application working with such a port will never notice that it is virtual.
- Connect virtual ports into pairs. VSPD XP Lite Edition gives you the ability to connect created virtual ports into pairs. Two ports in a pair are connected with virtual null-modem cable. Such a connection is very stable and much more reliable than common physical link
- Test or debug your own software. It is very easy to test or debug your software using Virtual Serial Port Driver Lite. You simply create two ports and connect them into pair. Then you open one port with a terminal and another with your own software. In this way the applications will be able to exchange data.
